Group Infant Massage
Each group will have a maximum of 4 babies of similar age and their parents. The class will meet weekly for 1:30 hours. We meet at my house in Escazu o they can be taught privately in parent’s homes if they want to (group or individual sessions, classes in parent's homes have an additional charge).

The group activities will be carried out sitting on the floor on top of a soft mat. Each parent will bring a towel to place the baby on. The classroom will have a suitable temperature for babies to be undressed, controlled by a room heater. The classroom will have ample supply of paper towels to clean any mess. The hygiene of the room is fundamental, being properly disinfected before each class starts.

Babies with special needs will be accepted into the program, and activities will be adapted to their unique needs. An important part of the class is for parents to realize that their child is unique, and so he will react in a special way to the massage. The needs of babies will be the most important aspect during the class, if the baby needs to have a break to cuddle or eat, his parents will do it, and rejoin with the rest of the class when baby is ready.

At the end of the class there is an informal discussion on a subject presented by parents or the instructor. Some possible subjects for discussion are labor experience, the benefits of infant massage, massages for the growing child, breast-feeding, parental stress, child proofing the house, first days with a baby, solid foods, etc.
