Mariel Madrigal has been an International IAIM Trainer since September of 2008. She assisted a course in Barcelona in 2006 for the seven IAIM International Trainers. As part of her training process, she's observed courses in London (Sylvie Hetu), Newcastle (Janice Heart), and New Jersey, (Jody Wright). She’s also undergone training courses in Washington DC 06 and Denver 08 about “Positive Contact in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit” given by Cherry Bond (www.cherrybond.com). Likewise she’s received continuing education courses about affective contact with premature and handicapped children, given by Ewa Westman from the IAIM. Mariel has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Costa Rica.
Mariel currently works in her private practice and in the Neonatal service in the Children’s National Hospital.
